Canes are really simple to make but it's amazing how intricate and beautiful patterns can be made by putting them together.This is a very inspiring book with lots of pictures and great directions, making it pretty easy to cut, pull, push and combine canes into wonderful and original designs.Some of the most exciting work since I started with polymer clay. I highly reccommend this book.
Nice Ideas, however I found that some were a retelling of the very basic canes. I would have liked to see more complex canes and more color ( but that is just me). I would recommend this to any new users. It is a good book to learn from. The instructions were clear to me, however I have been working with polymer clay for over 8 yrs. Still learning....
I like this book for its clearness and simplicity when explaining the different processes that takes making canework.As the author says, it is not so important the resulting picture of the cane as to understand its work process and give to readers ideas and inspiration to increase their creativeness.I recommend this book because it fullfills what its title says very clearly: EXPLORING CANE WORK.
I'm new to polymer clay. This book was insightful and provides great examples of techniques, clearly explained. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
This book does a good job of showing step by step instructions for explanations to building canes. It helps to have a bit of knowledge about Polymer Clay to use it. The price makes it worthwhile to add it to your Clay library.
Book has a lot information in a small book. There are plenty of examples and exercises that you can do to help with your cane work. There is information on color too. Since color play such an important role in cane work, it is important to know how to put colors together. I'm glad I purchased this book.
This is a great book for those of us who don't make many canes and forget how. The instructions are very simple and concise, and easy to understand, with some variations and tips on the designs. Thanks
Using the information in this book I was able to quickly produce some pieces that I was pleased with.
