Stephenie makes the bast fiber spinning very much clearer than anything I have read before. I have taken classes in spinning these fibers, and she makes some of the confusion remaining clear up. Now just to practice, practice, practice.Can't wait for the next book in the series.
Plant fibers can be a challenge for me. There was a point where I considered cotton to be impossible. No more. Thanks to Stephenie, and her clear, concise and always helpful guidance, I now have almost enough cotton finely spun for a wedding hanky, and I did it while watching TV in the evenings!
Great information on growing, processing, and spinning cotton, flax, and hemp, and what to do with the yarn once it's spun. While spindle spinning is covered, majority of the information on spinning is geared towards wheel spinners.
Not what I was hoping for. I was looking for a little more basic help with spinning.
So much information to unpack! Going to enjoy this a lot.
