It is sixty three pages of beautiful illustrations and facts about our planet, the beasts who inhabited it, and the history of Earth through the ages.The age levels are seven to twelve, but this 67 year old lady had a wonderful learning experience reading this book. The pictures are incredible! There are so many facts crammed into this book, yet it is not overwhelming in any way. What a great way to encourage your child to read and learn at the same time. This book would also come in handy for any school reports.The book walks you through Earth from its earliest beginnings, through her many changes - some slowly taking place, others violent -- up to the age of humans. The text is simple and easy to read although, of course, scientific names appear everywhere due to the subject matter. There are fossil pictures that are just beautiful! Each subject matter runs just two pages, enough to learn but not loose the interest of young readers.There are over thirty different 'chapters' -- some include --OUR PLANET'S EPIC STORYRISE OF THE HERBIVORESDEATH FROM OUTER SPACEDINOSAURS HIT THEIR PEAKSo interesting!Author Blake Edgar is a science writer and editor who has had work appear in several publications.
