Deadpool has always been a character in love with breaking the fourth wall. In this volume, an attempt at psychiatric treatment leads deadpool to discover that he was right about the universe all along, and it causes him to go on a rampage against every hero and villain at Marvel. While the concept was decent, this comic was far too short. Most of the battles were over in a page or two, so we didn't get to see nearly enough action to make this worthwhile.

The killer in Deadpool manages to takeover, Now he is out to kill everyone in the entire Marvel Universe.I know a lot of people love Deadpool. I really haven't read that many of his stories. I had heard that they were darkly humorous. So, I was looking forward to this series. Unfortunately, I found it disappointing.By putting the killer aspect of Deadpool's fractured psyche, it takes a lot of the humor out of his personality. Then what could have been epic fights between Deadpool and the other heroes and villians of Marvel, were often reduced to either Deadpool using a trick (which the heroes meekly fell for) or he just let them them kill him and then regenerated really quickly and killed them when they turned their backs. (Why they all forgot he could do that, I am not sure.) The heroes really didn't seem to use their powers or abilities very well. (Several Avengers had even gone into hiding instead of facing Deadpool.) There wasn't any great teaming up of superheroes(or villains) as has been seen so many times before. It seems Deadpool's power of regeneration works strangely. The worse the injury, the quicker he healed. Rip his head off and he had a new one in seconds but break his jaw and he actually has to reset it several minutes later. Finally, without giving anything away, the ending is a fairly lame overdone gimmick. This could have been a great what-if type story with some awesome battles. But it just didn't live up to its potential.

!*! murdering Hulk is 2 pages...Murder of Thor is both confusing, aswell as kinda clever maybe.!!Spoilers!!Deadpool heals together from at least 5 different pieces finds banner within about 8-9 hours and while standing right in front of him kills him with a sword. WTF? With one stroke I must add...Thor throws his hammer at deadpool and deadpool "I THINK" jumps over the hammer while it was flying towards Thor and enlarged it so that it crushed Thor.... Took me awhile to decide that's what happened otherwise deadpool kicked Third hammer back at him... Also pretty sure moonknight fight was BS and I've never read any of that characters comics, big assumption I know but well bet you won't think I'm wrong...:-\

Seriously, you'll enjoy the storyline, the Art, the pathos, the revenge we've all secretly harbored.--A great-grandmother in Texas--August 26, 2017

Though I can appreciate the repeated fourth-wall breaking, I have to say I liked the idea of this book rather than its actual content. Didn't really care for the ending. But I love the Marvel Universe with its characters I've known all my life. It was entertaining to watch them all die at the hands of Deadpool. It's also a very short read, but it's got good re-readability.

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe was probably the most interesting of the DP spinoffs. It’s also the most serious and bloody. There’s even a parental advisory on the cover. Basically, Deadpool’s mind tells him that he needs to wipe out reality by killing off all the Marvel characters. That’s not all though, he even tries to kill the Marvel writers! Awesome work by Cullen Bunn.

Lots of meta, fourth-wall breaking which has become a staple of Deadpool comics. As implied in the title, Deadpool hacks, slashes, shoots, and quips his way through the Marvel roster for reasons of his own. If you already like Deadpool, you'll like this too. If you hate the idea of Deadpool, this won't change your mind.

Lots of things happen and it all happens crazy fast. The dialogue is a bit try hard with less pay off of other deadpool experiences. But it is an interesting read, even though I had myself thinking, "what?" after almost every death. I just feel if you are killing everyone with deadpool you can get a bit more inventive. The worst part is how short it is, I wish it gave us more time to digest the fights and their ramifications.

Deadpool is awesome what can I say. This comic is a pretty quick read but a good read non the less. I do love the writing and the art. I will say that the ways Deadpool kills certain marvel characters is awesome and pretty genius. I will say that I do hope they make this comic into a movie with Ryan Reynolds. Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe is great read and one many Deadpool fans should check out.

About the Author

Thomas Paine was born in England in 1737 and worked as a schoolteacher, storekeeper, and customs inspector before moving to Philadelphia in 1774. He quickly acquired a reputation as a journalist and published his hugely successful and influential pamphlet Common Sense in 1776. The Crisis, written when Paine was a soldier in the darkest days of the revolution—with its famous opening words, “These are the times that try men’s souls”—called for perseverance and prevented Washington’s army from disintegrating. To honor him for defending the French Revolution in Rights of Man, France made him a citizen and elected him to their constitutional convention. He died in 1809.

Thomas Paine is essential reading to anyone who wants to understand American History. However, this particular edition, presented by Signet Classics, is the most disappointing presentation of any classic I have ever seen. While "Common Sense" appears to be presented in its entirety, "The American Crisis" (aka simply "The Crisis") is not. Parts 2, 6, and 9-12 are omitted entirely, and parts 3, 4, 7 & 8 are presented with only "selections". I don't know about any other readers, but this is extremely annoying to me. It is almost as annoying as when Readers Digest decided to present an edited version of The Bible, omitting sections they felt were unimportant because they were duplicates of other sections. I certainly do not equate the writings of Thomas Paine with those of the Bible, but the principle is the same: I do not want someone omitting sections that the author, whether it is God or Thomas Paine, felt should be part of what he had to say. I am reading "The Crisis" presented in a library copy edited by Eric Foner and am looking for an edition of my own. If you want to just hit the highlights of Paine's work, then the Signet edition may be for you. If you want to read Thomas Paine as he spoke to America, Britain and the world, don't waste your money on this edition.

These ought to be required reading for every US citizen, or at least any who want to actually understand the Founding Fathers' thinking. Thomas Paine was a tremendous influence on the ordinary citizen of his time as the Founders sought to engender support for the Revolution that created the United States of America, and then again as he tried to influence the French Republic to come into being through other than the bloody massacre that it was. He explains, in The Rights of Man, to the French citizen what he meant in Common Sense, about just who it is that gives us our rights: God-given they are, not Government largesse!

I have to say that I had a bit of a tough time getting into this book. For me, to truly enjoy it, I had to mentally place my mind back a couple hundred years and envision what it must have been like to live under the tyranny of a monarcial ruling class. As a citizen of a representative democracy and having lived an abundant life, that transformation took some doing. Fortunately, my most recent books have been about the middle ages leading up to the age of enlightenment - that helped a lot. The break from English powers did not happen easily but it happened because of people like Samuel Adams. John Adams and Thomas Paine. Sadly, we take the fruits of our forefathhers labor for granted and we should not.Once my mental transformation took place I just could not get enough of this book. It is not a book to read for enjoyment. To me, it was not a page turner. Rather, it was a must read because I am US citizen and want to know more about the fundamental philosophies of our forefathers. Equally important was "the rights of man". How exciting it must have been to live in those times of enlightment.I suppose I ordered Common Sense / The Rights of Man because I am troubled by the direction our country is taking. In my soul, I question if the monarcial ruling class has been replaced by an elite ruling class of two political parties. Common Sense forced me to question whether the political elite, of both parties, use the power to tax in ways similar to how monarcial classes did. Would Thomas Paine question if the elite see our national economy as their sand box to play in for their own benefit and advancement. Tax payers keep shoving sand into the sand box and the elite keep spending it to advance, not society in general, but to shore up their own bases and thus their power. My Gosh, do I have a bit of Thomas Paine in me. Or, maybe I am a Tea Party guy and don't even know it. Thankfully, I am happy with my day job.

Great read for history buffs.A must read if studying the Revolutionary times.

This is what we're founded on, what America is supposed to be, and the way we should conduct our political affairs. Paine should probably be required reading for every citizen, every student, anyone wondering what freedom really means. Besides being informative, it is incisive, sarcastic, humorous, and passionate. The English is old and dated, but that just adds to its delight. I read this in short segments and then thought about each chapter. It made me proud to be an American and sad to realize how much freedom we've lost since Paine's day.
