This is not what you expect when you buy "graph paper." Presumably, what you're expecting is a pad of paper with faint blue or gray lines marking hexagons from one side of each page to another. What you're actually getting is what happens when someone takes a free hex paper pattern from the Internet and uploads it to Amazon to print on each page as a "book." The lines are just printed on each page in black ink (so forget about using it like real graph paper that you can draw over top of) and they cut off at the edges where the margins of a normal printed book would be. Aside from the laugh I got from initially opening up my book of "graph paper," this doesn't add any value over just printing a hex grid with an inkjet printer. You can even see aliasing in the diagonal lines on the pages
If you're thinking about ordering this to make Dungeons & Dragons (or other RPG) maps, don't. The lines are really dark and thick (and yet at the same time somewhat pixelated), making it hard to see the picture drawn on the page. Also, the book is not perforated, so you either need to keep all your maps in this book or cut out the pages yourself.
This product is not at all what you expect it to be when you buy it. When it ways "Graph Paper" you expect the lines to be consistent. The lines vary in thickness depending on if it is horizontal or diagonal. If that were the only problem, it would still be usable, but the sheets have about 1 inch margins to the outside of the page, leaving a lot less hexes available for drawing. Also, the sheets come in a book instead of individual sheets like you would expect with "graph paper". The pages aren't even perforated! there is a lot better hexagonal graph paper you can buy out there.
I wish I’d Read the reviews first. :(Not “sheets.†They are bound and have no perforation for easy removal. My son wanted this for D&D use. I could have printed this out off of the internet. Also labeling this as “100 Sheets†is misleading. “Pages†are double sided (so one side worthless) and non-removable. Buyer beware. Read reviews first.
I'd prefer the pattern go all the way to the edge of the paper.
This is great paper for me as a quilter. I can color in designs and use this paper in making up my own patterns. It's easy to use and the right size hexagons. If I could change anything, I'd like it to be perforated for sheet removal.
The hexes aren't one-inch. They are 21mm side-to-side and 24mm point-to-point, 13/16 of an inch side-to-side and 15/16 of an inch point-to-point. So it is too small for 25 to 28mm gaming. Also the lines are thicker on the diagonal edges than the straight edges. If you like bound graph paper for mapping or art, it might suffice, but I'd like it to be more precise. I'd rather have hexes that were actually one inch side-to-side, and I purchased this book thinking that would be the case. One strong point is that the printing on one side matches exactly with the other side, so a two-sided design held up to the light will line up with the back.
Line thickness is too thick and too heavy.
